This high-level conference is a unique gathering of female politicians. It brings together at least 350 women political leaders from all over the world.

The WPL Summit 2019 is co-hosted by the House of Representatives of Japan, with the oversight of an Executive Committee for the WPL Summit 2019 in Japan, composed of leading women Japanese politicians.

Scheduled for 25-27 June in Tokyo, the WPL Summit 2019 touches upon themes on the agenda of the G20 Summit hosted by Japan immediately after, on 28-29 June.  

This is the first WPL Summit ever to be held in East Asia. Past WPL Summits have attracted several hundred female politicians to Vilnius (Lithuania), Reykjavík (Iceland),  Amman (Jordan) Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Mexico City (Mexico), Kigali (Rwanda) and the European Parliament (Brussels).
