Brynhildur Björnsdóttir Iceland

Brynhildur Björnsdóttir is a member of the Icelandic parliament for the Left green party.
She previously worked as a journalist, children’s radio and tv producer and musician, film maker, writer, and humanist officiant.
She has been an advocate for women’s rights for two decades, is a founding member of Iceland’s first feminist webzine, knuz.is, has made several short films teaching children and young adults about sexual violence and consent and is a founding and board member in Victims’ Rights Association of Iceland. Her 2022 book Ordinary Women – on prostitution in Iceland, stirred great interest in the discussion on sexual violence and the debate on prostitution vs sex work in Iceland.
