Elisa Vozemberg was born in Athens. She studied Law and Political Science at the Law School of Athens University and has been practicing law since 1982, specializing in criminal and family law. Ms. Vozemberg has been a Member of the European Parliament since July 2014 and belongs to the European People’s Party (EPP). She is a Member of the Committees on Legal and Home Affairs (LIBE), Transport and Tourism (TRAN), and Gender Equality and Women’s Rights (FEMM), where she has been Vice-Chair since July 2019.
Elisa Vozemberg is responsible for women’s rights on behalf of the EPP Greek delegation in the European Parliament. She worked intensively as rapporteur for the European Parliament on the subject of under-representation of women in the fields of science, education, and technology, as well as in STEM professions in general. Moreover, Ms. Vozemberg was the responsible rapporteur for the European Parliament legislative report on gender-based violence and cyber violence, urging the Commission to make gender-based cyber violence a criminal offense throughout Europe.
