Linda Robinson is the Senior Fellow for Women and Foreign Policy (WFP) at the Council on Foreign Relations, a best-selling author, and a recognized expert in foreign policy and national security. Her current work focuses on women political leaders and issues at the intersection of gender, technology, and democracy. Her recent articles address how lagging progress toward gender equality affects all U.N. Sustainable Development Goals, the status of the U.S. national gender strategy, and the outlook for women’s representation in the U.S. Congress.
Over the past year, Robinson has convened a workshop on technology-facilitated gender-based violence with participating countries from the Global Partnership for Action on Gender-Based Online Harassment and Abuse. She has conducted numerous roundtables, government briefings, and meetings, including “Addressing Threats to Women Political Leaders” with Sigrid Kaag and Rose E. Gottemoeller; “The Digital Services Act and Measures to Eliminate Online Gender-Based Violence”; “Democratic Regression and the Backlash Against Gender Equality and Women’s Rights; and “The Outlook for Women’s Political Leadership in 2024.”
Founded in 2002, WFP is the oldest program at U.S. international affairs think tank to focus on women’s political and economic empowerment and the benefits for global peace, security, and prosperity.
