Sonja Kuljača is a finance and governance expert with nearly two decades of experience across public administration, corporate management, and the banking sector. She currently leads the development and implementation of financial plans at the Service for Protection and Sustainable Development of the Public Enterprise for Coastal Zone Management, where she works extensively in the domain of EU projects in the marine protected areas combining financial expertise with a strong commitment to environmental protection and cultural heritage promotion.
From 2022 to 2024, she served as Secretary of Finance for the Municipality of Budva, where, in addition to overseeing budget planning, financial management, and institutional cooperation, she was actively engaged in projects that connected finance with culture. She was a member of the municipal team for Budva’s candidacy for the European Capital of Culture, contributing to the integration of cultural development into the city’s broader economic and governance strategies.
Her previous professional experience includes leadership roles as a Board Member at HTP Budvanska Rivijera, Key Account Manager at Mtel Montenegro, Deputy Director at Monteverde M, as well as corporate banking positions with Hypo Alpe-Adria-Bank.
She holds master degrees in economics and business administration, and she is currently writing her PhD thesis, focusing her research on place branding and national branding — a field where culture and identity play a central role.
